Abstract
- The article discusses a study to evaluate changes in aging firefighter's aerobic capacity and 3- and 13-year follow-ups, and to evaluate the lifestyle factors predicting changes in aerobic capacity. Participants includes 78 male Finnish firefighters aged 30-44. The predictors were exercise, smoking and drinking habits. The study concluded that to prevent the excessive decline of aerobic activity related to work demand, particular attention needs to be paid to exercise regularity.
