Abstract
- The article discusses the vocabulary and purposes of ancient Greek religious offerings. The author examines types of religious offerings, including animal sacrifice, offerings of food and drink, and dedications of objects, and suggests that the vocabulary used for an offering is related to its purpose. Purposes discussed include thank-offerings and preliminary offerings.
