Abstract

To predict the required minimum collapse distance along impact direction, the scoring principle for the head injury criteria (HIC) is analyzed, and an ideal square wave deceleration curve is used to replace the actual impact deceleration curve. By taking the limit values of head injury criteria specified in GB/T24550-2009 The protection of motor vehicle for pedestrians in the event of a collision as objective control parameters, the minimum collapse distance for engine hood is analyzed based on the square wave deceleration curve. Finally the validity of the method is verified by tests. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
