Abstract
- The article presents a study which examines the mass balance and ice volume change in glaciers in European Alps from 1900 to 2011. The study performs mass balance extrapolation on data obtained from world glacier monitoring services (WGMS) and field data and modeling for glaciers in France, Austria, and Italy. Result shows that European Alps have mean glacier mass balance of -0.31 ± 0.04 meter w.e. -1 in 1900-2011.
