This article compiled the literature regarding the contribution and importance of audiometry of extreme high frequencies (AT-AF), in the early identification of occupational hearing loss. It demonstrates that only the conventional tonal audiometry can not be efficient in the early identification and prevention of PAIR, besides to describe the methodological variables for its realization.
