Abstract

The article presents information on a cohort study to undermine the risk of coronary heart disease in patients with chronic kidney disease compared to diabetes. It informs that the study was undertaken in Alberta, Canada and highlights that the population-based cohort included the measurement of glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and proteinuria. The findings of the study suggest that chronic kidney disease can be regarded as one of the factors for future coronary disease. INSET: Panel: Research in context.
