Chimerism in women with end stage renal diseases.

The article discusses a study which investigated chimerism in women with end stage renal disease (ESRD). The study provided evidence that these women carry male microchimerism (Mc) in peripheral blood molecular cells before kidney transplantation. The sources of Mc are suggested including those that come from older siblings through maternal circulation or from a recognized or unrecognized twin.
