Abstract

The article discusses childhood eczema. It elaborates the causes, diagnostic criteria and physiological manifestations of the disease. Mild eczema can be treated using topical anti-inflammatory agents or ultra violet (UV) light. Severe eczema however may not respond to these treatments. topical calceneurin inhibitors and systemic immunomodulatory agents like azathioprine, ciclosporin A and methotrexate are indicated for management of severe eczema.
