Low vision services for children in Tanzania.

The article describes the work of the Kilimanjaro Centre for Community Ophthalmology (KCCO), which has been involved in a five-year project to improve low vision services for children in Tanzania by integrating low vision into existing district and regional eye care services. A major factor in the project's success was the appointment of a Childhood Blindness and Low Vision Co-ordinator. After 4 years, 82 percent of children at annexes have been assessed and provided low vision services.
