Abstract

The article discusses a study of whether a lifestyle integrated approach to balance and strength training is effective in reducing the rate of falls in older people. The study concluded that the Lifestyle integrated Functional Exercise (LiFE), a tailored programme taught over five home visits with two booster visits was effective in bringing about a 31percent reduction in the rate of falls in older people. The LiFE programme is a good alternative to traditional exercise.
