Abstract
- A position-sensitive proton recoil telescope (PSPRT) has been developed as a new-type neutron spectrometer to achieve high sensitivity and high energy resolution concurrently. The PSPRT consists of a radiator-detector and a proton detector, which employs a set of a position-sensitive photomultiplier (PS-PMT) and a scintillator. Neutron energy spectrum is derived by using only “good events” which are events for forward angles around <f>0°</f>, and correcting for the proton energy loss in the radiator detector. The expected performance of PSPRT was proved experimentally. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
