Abuses of power.

The author laments a lack of public confidence in persons who wield power and authority, and attributes it to excessive deregulation that, he claims, has led to an emphasis on near-term gratification at the expense of long-term consequences. In his view Britain's Labour Party should champion regulations that restore responsible capitalism.
