Abstract
- The article discusses quantum money as a theoretical alternative to entrusted money on credit cards and physical money like cash, precious metals, or poker chips. According to the article, digital information can be copied, and digital money can be counterfeited, but quantum mechanics and the complexity-theoretic no-cloning theorem indicate that cryptographically secure and transportable money could be possible. Topics include qubits, electron spin characterized by vectors, and collision-free quantum coins characterized by knot theory.
