Abstract
- The article presents a case study of Lesley Ruth Hampton, a 42-year-old woman who died from complications of multiple sclerosis (MS) in hospital. Some of the challenges faced by Lesley in end-of-life care for progressive neurological disease are described. The article discusses the need for end-of-life care for those living with incurable progressive neurodegenerative diseases in Great Britain today and some of the initiatives undertaken by the government to improve the situation.
