Abstract
- The article presents the study which examined the effects of self-administered misoprostol in comparison with placebo before intrauterine device (IUD) insertion in nulliparous women. It claims that use of the IUD as a contraceptive method for women rose to 5.5% in 2006-2008 from 2% in 2002 in the U.S. The study was carried out at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah in January 2009-November 2010.
