Special section: Selected papers from the Fourth International Workshop on Recent Advances in Monte Carlo Techniques for Radiation Therapy.

Information about several papers discussed at a workshop held from June 8 to 10, 2011 on recent advances in Monte Carlo (MC) Techniques for radiation therapy is presented. Topics discussed at the workshop include parallel processing, graphics processing unit, applications in adaptive radiation therapy, imaging and dosimetry as well as integration of MC techniques with non-MC related applications.
