XVII. YÜZYILIN İLK ÇEYREĞİNDE ÜSKÜDAR'DA KÖLE TİCARETİ, KÖLELERİN TİCARETLE UĞRAŞMASI.

In this study, lawsuit records on slaves are evaluated relating Üsküdar Registers of Religious Affairs in the first quarter of XVIIth Century, and slave trade in Üsküdar is examined as a small example of slave trades in the Ottoman Satate. In the study according to the lawsuit records of Kadi Courts, particular points in trading of slaves; prices of slaves; the factors affecting these prices; special features of the slaves are also emphasized. Moreover, it is included the slaves that became licensed ones by a particular bail fee and obtained the rights of trading. It is also questioned that where the slave trade is practiced; whether there is an Esir Hanı (i.e. slave trading place, slave market) in the beginning of XVIIth Century in Üsküdar.
