Abstract
- The typical antipsychotic haloperidol and atypical antipsychotics olanzapine, quetiapine and risperidone were administered to pregnant Sprague–Dawley dams in the drinking water from Days 8 to 18 of gestation. When the offspring reached adulthood (2 months), spatial learning and short-term retention were examined using the radial arm maze. Results showed that prenatal administration of haloperidol, risperidone and quetiapine impaired learning but only haloperidol and risperidone disrupted short-term retention. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
