Abstract

Abstract: Besom-like CdWO4 structures composed of single-crystalline nanorods were prepared by hydrothermal process with a wide range of pH, without the assistance of any template. The phase composition, crystal structure and morphology of final product were characterized by XRD, SEM and TEM. The obtained results revealed that with increasing the pH of synthesizing solution the size of besom-like CdWO4 structures composed of single-crystalline nanorods has become larger. The nanorods in the sample synthesized at pH=11 have widths of ∼50nm and lengths of <2.0μm. The photoluminescence (PL) emission spectra of samples show a blue-green light emission centered at 475nm, of which intensity increases due to the increase in particle size and crystallinity with the increase in the pH of synthesizing solution.
