Abstract: The article discusses the state of the web database "Verzeichnis der im deutschen Sprachraum erschienenen Drucke des 17. Jahrhunderts" (Bibliography of Books Printed in the German-Speaking Lands in the 17th Century, VD 17) as of December 2011. Information is provided on funding for the project, participating libraries and archives, and a master plan for the full digitization of the 17th-century books. Anticipated future developments are also outlined.
