Abstract
- We report the fabrication of epitaxial nanometer-thick magnetic structures, self-organized on surface reconstructions [Co/Au (1 1 1) pillars] and atomic step arrays [Fe/Mo (1 1 0) stripes]. Due to their high volume, these structures are remanent at room temperature, whereas conventional self-organized flat systems obtained in the sub-monolayer deposition range are superparamagnetic down to low temperatures.
