Abstract

The article focuses on the research presented by Qianqian Gao and colleagues on the impact of fatty acid activation on photosynthetic production related to fatty acid-based biofuels in Synechocystis sp. PCC6803 mutant strains. It mentions that Synechocystis sp. PCC6803 encodes an acyl carrier protein (ACP) synthetase (AAS)). It offers information on alkane biosynthetic pathway in cyanobacteria with two enzymes including an acyl carrier protein (ACP) reductase (AAR) and an aldehyde decarbonylase (ADC).
