Abstract: Presents a study which reported on a technique involving a nonconventional electronic structure calculation based on treating the ƒ electron as a resonant state in solid-state environment to evaluate hybridization. Procedure for evaluating the hybridization; Calculation of the crystal-field level shifts and two-ion exchange interaction matrix.
