An article on Monday about a Pennsylvania man who says he went AWOL from the United States Air Force in 1984 and hitchhiked from his base in Germany to Sweden misstated, in some editions, the status of the extradition policies between Sweden and the United States. While Sweden has an extradition treaty with the United States, it does not cover military or political offenses. It is not the case that Sweden has no extradition treaty with the United States.
