Abstract

Examines phase slippage of the electrons relative to the electromagnetic field with regard to acceleration of electrons in free space using intense laser beams. Cause of the degradation of the electron-beam characteristics; Calculations of the longitudinal and transverse beam dynamics; Consequence of phase slippage.
