Abstract
- The article presents a study which evaluates the Midwives Service Scheme (MSS) launched in December 2009 in Nigeria. It is inferred that only one third of the number of total births is attended by a skilled personnel in the country. The significance of the MSS strategy in influencing the maternal and child services in other developing countries is highlighted.
