Earth summit: Rio report card.

The article discusses the progress of treaties signed during the United Nation (UN)'s Earth Summit held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in May 1992. It says that the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change produce little change on the overall global emissions growth rate since 1970. It adds that the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) fails to slow species extinction due to lack of concrete targets. Moreover, the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) shows elusive results.
