Examines stress compensated quartz resonators having ultralinear frequency-temperature responses. Physical features of new linear and stress compensated cuts; Limitations existing in nonrotated Y-cut quartz plates; Resonance frequency equation for thickness-vibration modes in a thin ideal crystal plate.
