Abstract

Presents a study which examined the measurement of the linear and quadratic electro-optic coefficients of GaAs at the wavelengths 1.32 and 1.52 µm using single-mode AlGaAs/GaAs strip-loaded waveguides. Status of quadratic electro-optic coefficients with increasing wavelength; Key components for telecommunications; Type of knowledge necessary to optimize the performance and behavior of the coefficients.
