Information about the Seventh All-Russia Conference on X-ray spectrochemical analysis (XRS)which was held in Novosibirsk, Russia from September 19-23, 2011 is presented. It states that more than 160 presentations were made on various topics including electron probe microanalysis, X-ray fluorescence spectrometry and problems of XRS. Researcher E.M. Lukyanchenko discussed semiconductor detectors which do not need liquid-nitrogen cooling.
