Abstract
- The article examines construction and testing of the Boeing 787-9 jet transport by the aerospace industries company Boeing Co. The company's use of a hybrid laminar flow control (HLFC) system on the vertical and horizontal stabilizers of the transport to reduce aerodynamic drag in flight is discussed. HLFC works by delaying the transition from laminar to turbulent air flow over the skin of the stabilizers.
