The Surgical Management of Ectopic Pregnancy.

The article discusses surgical management as an effective and important treatment modality for ectopic pregnancy, and laparoscopy as a commonly used method of access. It also highlights the need of individualized approach to determine surgical method, considering, risk of recurrent trophoblastic disease, chance of completing the surgery and desire for future child bearing. The procedures of salpingostomy, salpingectomy and other surgical options for non-tubal ectopic pregnancies are discussed.
