Abstract
- The authors explore the three important gaps in knowledge that need to be addressed in order to improve the overall survival following an in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA). First is the need to determine whether discharge survival rate is the best outcome for measurement. Second is the understanding of organizational culture and best practices that distinguish hospitals with superior survival rates. Last is the examination of long-term outcomes after an IHCA.
