Abstract
- Injuries of the anterior cruciate ligament are among the most common injuries of the knee and are mostly found in young and active individuals. A reconstructive procedure of the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) was conducted in 34 individuals aged 18-49 years, with the use of arthroscopic method and STG (semitendinosus-gracilis)grafts fixed with absorbable implants of the Rigid-Fix system. The evaluation of the postsurgical knee function with the Lysholm scale gave encouraging results. The role of postsurgical rehabilitation and of the presurgical state of thigh muscles was found to be significant. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
