Abstract: The article presents the author's reflections on the place of the family as a central cultural institution within U.S. popular culture at the beginning of the 21st century. Examples are given citing the primary importance of the family as a theme in several popular television shows. Connections are then drawn to the teachings of Jesus Christ in the New Testament regarding the relationship between family and the Kingdom of God.
