Abstract

The article discusses the impact of weed invasion and revegetation on the avian inhabitants on Montague Island that is managed by the New South Wales National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS). Tour guide Jesse Pumphrey of NPWS asserts that kikuyu grass poses the biggest problem to the seabird habitat as penguins are trapped in the grass. Meanwhile, NPWS field officer guide Boyd Hastings reveals that the kikuyu removal and revegetation cause the stabilisation of the shearwater population.
