Abstract
- The article discusses studies on factors related to mental decline. A study by Gene L. Bowman, of Oregon Health and Science University, and colleagues, revealed a favorable pattern for mental function that includes combination of high blood levels of vitamins B1, B2, B6, folate, B12, C, D and E, and that high level of trans fats were negatively linked with cognitive performance. The study also compared dietary biomarkers with measures of brain aging using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans.
