Abstract

The article provides a reprint of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union (AU)'s conference paper from December 2, 2011 regarding the AU Mission in Somalia (AMISOM). Particular focus is given to AMISOM's military assistance to Somalia's Transitional Federal Government (TFG), including in combating the terrorist group Al Shabaab. The AU also mentions the United Nations (UNs') role in AMINSOM.
