Abstract
- The article discusses the modernization of toxicology for the drug development in the U.S. in 2012. It tackles the methods for nonclinical toxicity testing and mentions Multi-scale Toxicology Initiative's (MSTI) experimental approach for drug-induced cardiac damage. The use of physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling by MSTI at the clinical trials for acute injury in isolated rat hearts is mentioned.
