Abstract
- The article discusses the collection of 19th and early 20th century Orientalist art owned by the Egyptian collector Shafik Gabr. According to the author, Gabr believes that Orientalist art can increase understanding and improve relations between the Western and Arab worlds. Comments by Gabr regarding Orientalist artists and their depictions of the Middle East are included.
