Abstract
- The article reports on research on asthma during pregnancy which was conducted by physician Peter Gibson of the University of Newcastle in New South Wales, Australia. Gibson's research found that asthma exacerbations during pregnancy declined 50% in patients who were managed by a clinical algorithm that was guided by exhaled nitric oxide and that the time to first exacerbation was significantly prolonged in patients who were managed by the fraction of exhaled nitric oxide (FENO) algorithm, associated with a hazard ratio of 0.565.
