Reply to the 'Discussion of the Paper by Krick et al.: Optical In Situ Micro Tribometer for Analysis of Real Contact Area for Contact Mechanics, Adhesion, and Sliding Experiments'.

The authors present their response to an article on in situ micro tribometer that is used in experiments involving contact mechanics, adhesion and sliding mechanism. In the experiment, they used the interference patterns that are exposed under the lighting of the contact with monochromatic scheme. The authors explain that the diffferences between real contact area and apparent contact area was observed using microtribometry and optical technique.
