Abstract

The article discusses a professional development collaboration between elementary schools and a college where student teachers explored the effectiveness of Math-Box lesson plans by incorporating children's literature and manipulatives. The teacher candidates created lesson plans according to U.S. National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Content Standards, which helped them to experience and develop instructional delivery and instructional planning.
