The article discusses various reports published within the issue, including one by Bernie Carter on efforts a British borough council made to address the challenge of what defines adequate child care, one by June Slee on the views that Australia's Department of Health and Families has on the failure to send children to school and one by Shanti Raman et al. on the ability of Australian clinicians to detect child abuse and neglect.
