Abstract

The article presents a study which assesses the effectiveness of single or daily umbilical cord cleaning regimens with the promotion of dry cord care in neonatal mortality prevention. It states that the study was a community-based, parallel cluster-randomised trial in Sylhet, Bangladesh. It concludes that though umbilical cord cleaning with Chlorhexidine can save lives, determining the best treatment frequency requires further studies.
