Abstract

The article addresses a number of political and business issues in the U.S. as of September 2002. It begins with an annual pension being received by Jack Welch from General Electric. The company also paid for personal and recreational expenses of Welch. The article then reports on the request made by ExxonMobil that the State Department declare whether a lawsuit filed against the company in Indonesia would impede the war on terrorism. Lastly, this article comments on the challenges facing the administration of President George W. Bush concerning stories about its proposed attack on Iraq.
