Abstract
- The article focuses on a research conducted in order to evaluate the potential role of trail-based chemical communication in collective foraging behavior of the caterpillars of the silverspot butterfly Dione juno huascuma that feed gregariously on Passiflora vines in Mexico. It discusses the use of a long-lived pheromone for marking of trails by caterpillars.
