Abstract

The article reports on a study which explored the antioxidative effects of yam or sweet potato in liver. It states that researcher evaluated the hepapropective effect of the 70W35 strain of Taiwanese yams in the model of CCl4-induced hepatic fibrosis in rats. The study found that yam-treated rats had reduced cirrhosis, level of gamma glutaminotranspeptidase and low-density lipoprotein, and triglyceride.
