Abstract

The article reports on the high number of unqualified nurses working at hospitals and medical facilities in Uganda. Diana Atwine, director of the State House Medicines and Health Services Monitoring Unit (MHSMU), claims that the unqualified nurses lack clear knowledge of diseases and the specific medicine to administer, putting patients at risk. To address the problem, the Health Ministry is staging operations to expose unqualified nurses and target the medical facilities that house them.
