Abstract
- The author discusses the reproductive isolation between a homoploid hybrid species and its parents is usually attained through chromosomal rearrangements, ecological divergence and spatial isolation from the parental species. He indicates the significance of homoploid hybrid species for studies on speciation. He highlights a study which measures the degree of molecular and phenotypic divergence between a hybrid species and its progenitors.
